Welcome to Agrus international
As I traveled across West Africa, particularly in Nigeria, Mali, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Niger, Sénégal, The Gambia, I discovered striking similarities with those stories my father once told me. The struggles and determination I see in African farmers today remind me of what our families experienced in Spain decades ago. That recognition has become a source of conviction for me: if Spain could achieve agricultural transformation, so too can Africa.
I come from Mollerussa, Spain. My roots in agriculture run deep: my father, born in El Poal (Lleida, Spain), came from a farming and livestock family. He dedicated his life to the land, and through his stories I grew up learning about the challenges and achievements of Spanish agriculture during the 1970s and 1980s. Those years were a turning point for our rural communities, where resilience, innovation, and cooperation transformed the primary sector.
This is why I founded Agrus International: Helping Africa to become the breadbasket of the world through making my father’s dream come true and to honor his legacy. What he envisioned for our community, I now envision for Africa — a future where agriculture is not only productive, but sustainable, innovative, and transformative.
